The Wonder Mountain illustrations were the result of a course I took in which you design 3-4 central designs and then create coordinating patterns.  I designed them to be cards with the patterns printed on the back, or inside an envelope or maybe....a commemorative postage stamp!

Anyway, when I was younger, and still living on Long Island, New York, every summer, I would go with my best friend Vikki, to her grandfathers cabin in the Adirondack mountains.  To this day, we both agree it was the highlight and best part of our childhood.  There was no plumbing, no electricity but gas lamps and a big fireplace.  The things I remember most were the astounding amount of stars in the night sky - it was like a sea of billions of diamonds, twinkling and sparkling in quiet beauty.  And the bats at the close of dusk, darting here and there, wild and free in the pine forests, the sound of the faraway Loon, and of course, the peace - the peace that God's creation communicates to you when you are alone with Him and His Art.  On those trips, we sat in the back of her grandpa's Suburban, listening to Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette as he drove past the beaches, past Manhattan, past the Hudson area, the Catskills, and up into the Adirondack wilderness, near Saranac Lake.  Forever grateful for those experiences.

Sweet Spring (shown), Gentle Summer,

Autumn Ember, Winter's Rest

Petal and Pen square journal covers (of which there are four, each in a different color variation) began with a symmetrical drawing in Adobe Fresco in just the winter color scheme.  But looking at all the flowers and blooming going on, I thought of Spring, and then of course there then had to be Summer and Autumn.

Each season has a tiny variation besides the color change.  A butterfly for Spring, a bumblebee for Summer, a silvery moth for Autumn, and snow flurries for Winter.

The qoute on the cover is my own and reflects a way of thinking that I apply to my own life - through all the changes of life, keep moving forward, keep learning, and keep growing.

These Quilted Christmas ornaments designs were created using my own Poinsetta and plaid patterns, and then adorning them with my own illustrated leaves, branches, ornaments, trees, stars, buttons, and pinecones.

I think they have a traditional and warm, cozy vibe.
