This collection began with a visit to a Lindt Chocolate store in Germany. I had no idea that Lindt made so many varieties of chocolate confections until I went into their beautiful store. My husband and I not only picked up chocolate treats, but I got their catalog, in German - the Easter (Ostern) edition.
I was so impressed by the color combinations, the tone on tone hues, the use of the same color in slightly different shades and tints and how the magazine spreads were expertly arranged to complement and contrast each other.
The inspiration from that catalog, with a symmetrical floral pattern I designed with Adobe Fresco which had similar colors to those I saw in the catalog - soft pinks, golden-yellow, lavender was the beginning.
Not really knowing what direction to go in from the first pattern, I tried adding a quilt like design with a dark chocolate colored background and then the Easter Sunday concept came to life in my mind - early Spring in Germany, the yellow guest house we stayed at, the Pine forests I saw during our train ride from Italy to Germany, and the colors of chocolate candy confections at the Lindt store.
